These series of paintings and cyanotypes were created while in residency with Making Alchemy in Prince Edward County. The works capture the light, colour and shapes of a chosen space, Closson Chase Vineyards. Much of the work refers to the ‘terroir’ of the land, about being present. It’s about a specific place, time and location. Process and materiality are central themes to the work, much as it is a part of the wine-making world. Both Patti and the wineries she is paired with employ careful, deliberate and often repetitive processes to achieve meaningful outcomes.
